ABOUT US
Housing Resource Center (HRC) was founded by urban housing experts from: UN-Habitat, the Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), and the Ministry of Housing, in the aftermath of the earthquake in Yogyakarta in 2006, with the issuance of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Housing and the Government of Yogyakarta in October 2006.
As an intermediary institution in the development of housing and urban resources synergy, HRC is present to provide a solution to the housing, urban, disaster, and environmental problems for various stakeholders. HRC serves the public need by designing housing arrangements that are in a safe area and are healthy, comfortable, productive and sustainable. HRC works with governmental and non-governmental agencies in the development and implementation of policy (policy development), the increase in capacity (capacity building), and knowledge management.
Article 28 H amendment 4 of the 1945 Constitution states that “everyone has the right to live in physical and spiritual prosperity, to obtain and reside in a good and healthy living environment, as well as receive medical care.” Inspired by the goal of the country, HRC is committed to being an innovative leading institution in promoting general welfare in the housing sector.
